Also, [ profile] lila_blue_b and I are looking for a Jim-centric moodtheme for [ profile] tarsus_iv_fic or info on how to make moodthemes. If anyone can point us in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. :)

One of the characters in the Korean drama I'm watching just started matter-of-factly explaining how their fans write this thing called fanfic which usually is about a love triangle between him and the other two guys in his idol group.

And then there's a visualization:

On another note, I fared well through the bit of snow we received. (It was fun, but I'm glad this kind of snow isn't a regular occurrence here in DC.) I stayed in Friday, but I went out Saturday evening to meet up with one of my mom's coworkers who was up here for a conference. I had to walk the half mile to the metro station, but it wasn't that bad. It was kind of fun to walk in the streets with everyone else. We met up in Chinatown and then ended up having dinner at a hotel restaurant. I had a very delicious French onion soup. I don't mind walking, but it will be nice when buses start working like normal again. Though I heard that we're supposed to be having more snow tomorrow.

Just wanted to let y'all know that Pacabel came home yesterday. He's been doing well. Very clingy to me, like when I came home after being gone for 3 weeks. He's very cheerful otherwise and you would never guess he had surgery a week ago. He's on can food only for a week or so and then he gets the expensive dry food for the rest of his life.
remadi: (thumbs up)
Just a quick update about Pacabel. I got an email from Ashley's mom. She said that surgery went fine and he should be home soon (maybe tomorrow.) They're waiting until he can pee on his own before releasing him (they think there's some inflammation in his urethra so they're waiting for it to go down.) They promised to keep me posted. (Which probably means that they call out for me as they enter the house with Pacabel.)

Um, what?

Hello my DC flisters. Yes, I'm back. :D

Just a quick note to point out that I made a post for [ profile] gqmf_dc about getting together Saturday evening. I know, short notice, but that's the time it was decided for. So head over to the post and comment! <3

Snagged from Foreign Policy's blog, Passport, here's a video of Pat Robertson explaining how the earthquake is Haiti's fault because they made a pact with the devil. "True story."

On a different note, does any one have or know where to find a "now you know" icon? I really want to have one now.
remadi: (Donna)
I think the person who wrote this Doctor Who fandom secret read my mind and then posted it. This still upsets me more than Tennant leaving. (Which I'm also sad about.)

I'm being nice and hiding the F!S under a cut. )

And on a totally random note, I really want to go to Dragon*Con next year.

And I still need to get another DW icon aside from my Donna one above.

She lives!

As [ profile] lila_blue_b can attest, I am still alive. I've been scanning LJ while in Florida and will have to post something substantive after I get back to DC. I have an 8:45am flight on Saturday. Wonder what fun things TSA has thought up for us now after Christmas? I'm sure I'll find out. Hope y'all had a fantastic Winter Holiday and New Years!

Hope everybody's week is spectacularly cheerful! Mine is filled with family staying at my house. So many people and no privacy. It's fun, but I'm glad it's only for a few days.

Random genealogy facts from my mother's side:

- One of my ancestors was Esther Susanna Arnold - Benedict Arnold's niece.
- My ancestors (the Flickingers) were involved in the Swiss peasant war of 1653, which was centered in Huttwil, their village of residence.
- One line on my maternal grandmother's side can be traced back to Charlemagne.

Just found [ profile] svmadelyn's Badfic Summary Mini-Ficathon for Stargate Atlantis and Smallville and now I really want one for Star Trek. And Merlin. Seriously. Someone should do this. Just not me because I suck at organizing and promoting things like this.

I love the photo shoots that SNL does with their guest hosts.

This is the last LJ post I'm going to do for a while, I promise!

I've decided to start saving gifs to use in comments and such, but I've obviously missed a lot.

So feel free to comment with your favorite, fun, not-so-favorite, dorky, shippy, whatever-tickles-your-fancy gifs so I can start building my gif library.

If anyone has the gif of young!Spock doing a thumbs up in front of a green screen, I would like that. I'm pretty sure that gif post was deleted from [ profile] ontd_startrek.

Thanks! <3

Any of my DC friends interested in seeing Invictus before the 16th? (Though it sounds like the 13th and 15th are taken.)

Or any of my Tampa friends (let's face it, [ profile] lila_blue_b, you're my only Tampa friend that is active on LJ) interested in seeing Invictus after the 16th?

You know, with me?

Why are some accents just so attractive - usually regardless to the body or personality attached? It's not fair sometimes.

This scene still amuses me, as well as the resulting interviews.

The more I see/read from David Hewlett, the more I enjoy the man.

Congratulations, Beeej!

McKay/Sheppard Fan Awards, 2007

I was on the McShep Fan Awards homepage (for the McKay/Sheppard pairing in Stargate:Atlantis) and saw that winners were announced.

Congrats on getting two runner-up awards in Manips and a Puddlejumper Award for cover art and icons!! That's awesome. :D You know I love your art. <3

For any who are interested in seeing who the winners for this year are, check out the 2008 Winner's page. There are links to all of the winning stories and art on that page. ([ profile] beeej's icon is not linked correctly on the Winner's page, but is correctly linked via the Nominees' page.)

Are scenes of Arthur shirtless in bed going to be the norm for the rest of the season?

I won't complain. Promise.
