As most people know (or are soon to find out), I love Jane Austen stories, Pride & Prejudice and Persuasion being my two favorites. Yesterday I was browsing on Amazon and came across a book and a tv miniseries which I think encompass every Austen fan's dream.
The first one is a book by Shannon Hale called Austenland.

The part relevant to my interests is the fact that the main character, Jane, is given an all-expense paid trip for three weeks to Pembrook Park as an inheritance from her great aunt. Pembrook Park is a resort where you are immersed in Austen's England life - dressing, speaking, living it (with modern plumbing.) Um, where do I sign up?
The second one I found was an ITV miniseries called Lost in Austen.
(Apparently there is a movie by the same name being made with a release listed in 2011 on IMDB, presumably based on the miniseries.)
Who wouldn't love to be plopped into Pride & Prejudice, meeting all of the different characters and interacting with them? Um, yes please. I, of course, immediately downloaded this miniseries, but I've yet to watch it, because it looks like it is full of embarrassing moments (I mean, the main character may have Pride & Prejudice memorized, but she's still a modern woman and I cringe at the number of faux pas she's capable of. Also, with what I've seen in the trailer, she really messes the story up) and I have a hard time watching embarrassing moments (especially since I could totally imagine me making the same ones.) But, would I love for there to be a magic door in my house that led to the world of Pride & Prejudice? Absolutely.
I think those two are the epitome of what a Pride & Prejudice fan could wish for - experiencing Regency life (and possibly finding your own Mr. Darcy) or living the book (and possibly finding the Mr. Darcy.) Y/Y?
Just had to share these finds with y'all.
