Pacabel's home!

Just wanted to let y'all know that Pacabel came home yesterday. He's been doing well. Very clingy to me, like when I came home after being gone for 3 weeks. He's very cheerful otherwise and you would never guess he had surgery a week ago. He's on can food only for a week or so and then he gets the expensive dry food for the rest of his life.

Just realized that I didn't actually explain what was wrong with Pacabel for those flisters who I haven't ranted to about it. Pacabel's not actually my cat, but my roommate's cat. I take care of him because my roommate (and owner of the townhouse) is currently living with her parents because she has serious medical issues she's healing from.

Long story short, I've been telling my roommate that her cat needs to see the vet since the first week of December, but she never thought it was that serious, so kept putting it off. Last Saturday morning, around 3 or 4, when I was getting ready to go to bed I noticed that he was bleeding a lot. I called my roommate immediately and her mom answered. They didn't take him to the vet until later that day.

He had a urinary tract infection and had to have emergency surgery because of a blockage, but the vet apparently thought he would be fine afterwards, which we now know he is. He was being kept at the vet's until yesterday when they brought him home.

And like I said in the post, he's acting his normal, usual self now. A stark contrast to a week ago.

Oh good! Sometime soon I will have to come over and snuggle him. :)
